Mother - Arun Lata

Our mother, Arun Lata ("Rathiba" to her father) was born in the town of Kalka, Haryana. The famous Kalka Mail train runs between Kalka and Kolkata (Howrah). Her dad, our grandfather - nanaji, bauji - was in military service and hence had a transferable job.

As part of her dad's transfers, mom grew up in Delhi (Roshanara Bagh, Sabzi Mandi area - while nanaji was in Delhi Cantt.), Ranchi (Jharkhand) and finally in Dehradun (Uttarakhand), where nanaji decided to settle.

She went to primary school at the Nari Shilp Mandir in the New Connaught Place area of Dehradun and for her graduation, she attended the famous Mahadevi Kanya Pathshala (MKP). Earlier, while in Delhi, she attended school in the Roshanara Bagh area and had some memories of going to school each day.
